Aims
Sherborne Contemporary Arts is an artist led group that exists to–

• Promote contemporary arts and to create opportunities for professional artists in the Wessex area.
• Develop different creative approaches to art and promote collaborative and partnership working.
• Create sustainable networks for future activities and shows in the Wessex area.
• SCA aims to increase public awareness and accessibility for all groups to contemporary art.

Origins of SCA
Set up in 1995 by a small group of artists. SCA was the first body to begin to promote Sherborne House as a centre for the arts SCA has a strong history of presenting innovative exhibitions and events including funded shows and community based shows.

SCA Today
SCA continues to be an artist led group with the aim of making contemporary art more accessible to a wider audience and to provide support for its members through meetings and events. Individual members have shown throughout the UK and in Europe.
SCA’s strengths arise from its membership. Their active involvement in the promotion and development of projects, sharing of information and networking are the main ways in which the group is kept alive and well.
Membership is by interview, the panel including local prominent non-member artists.
